Service Level Agreement

The Rochester Diocesan Board of Education offers a single Service Level Agreement (SLA) to all 90 Church of England Schools, academies and affiliated schools within the geographical boundaries of the Diocese.

The SLA 2019-20 forms part of our work to serve our Church schools and academies by

providing a high quality range of services and support at reasonable prices which represent good


Our aim is to provide a Service Level Agreement that is:

  • Shaped to support the distinctive needs and mission of our Church Schools and Academies
  • High quality and professional in its delivery
  • Affordable and excellent value for money
  • Transparent, equitable and fair based on the different status and size of our Church Schools
  • Flexible and responsive to the changing needs of our Diocesan Family of Schools
  • Sustainable and encourages genuine partnership between the DBE and our Family of Schools

Quality of Service

Schools and Academies subscribing to the RDBE Service Level Agreement 2018-19

are entitled to expect the Education team to:

  • provide professional and expert information, advice and assistance in the areas listed;
  • upon request, deliver the services listed to a high professional standard;
  • respond promptly and courteously to requests for assistance;
  • act with discretion and safeguard confidentiality;
  • be responsive to individual schools and their distinctive ethos;
  • act with integrity and in accordance with Christian beliefs and values;
  • promote at all times the Church of England foundation and Christian ethos of the school;
  • deal promptly and courteously with any complaints about the level of service provided
