Board of Education
Promoting Christian distinctiveness through excellent education in the Diocese of Rochester

Strategic Partners of the RDBE

We work closely with a number of partner organisations who provide us with additional capacity to support our work with our Church schools.

The Church of England Foundation for Educational Leadership (CEFEL)

CEFEL has been created by the Church of England Education office and the National Society to run nationally accredited leadership programmes specifically designed for Church of England school leaders.

Rochester DBE is a partner diocese for the South-East regional pilot.

The Foundation currently runs the Church of England National Professional Qualification for Headship (CEPQH), Peer to Peer Network and Diocesan Leadership programmes for MAT Leaders.

Diocesan Strategic Partnership (DSP)

This is partnership of seven Church of England Multi-Academy Trusts who we work closely with.

Members of the DSP include:

  • The Aquinas Church of England Education Trust (Bromley)
  • Alethiea Anglican Academies Trust (Gravesend & Dartford)
  • Trinitas Multi-Academy Trust (Bexley)
  • Tenax Multi-Academy Trust (Tunbridge Wells)
  • Amadeus Primary Academies Trust (Bexley)
  • Medway Anglican Schools Trust (MAST)
  • The Pilgrim Trust, Medway

Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU)

CCCU is the largest centre of higher education in Kent for the public services including teacher training and a significant provider of programmes in a wide range of academic and professional areas.

We work closely with CCCU in a number of areas including sponsorship of academies, partners in Teaching School Alliances and Foundation Governor appointments.

Local Authorities

We work very closely with our professional colleagues within the four local authorities of Kent, Medway, Bromley and Bexley and work in partnership to support our Church schools who serve local communities within these areas.

The RDBE is represented on the Education Scrutiny Committees of the local authorities and the authorities nominate members to the RDBE.

Diocesan Partners

We have strong links with our neighbouring Diocesan Boards of Education in Canterbury and Chichester. We work together in a number of areas including leadership development programmes and admission forums.
